today's adventures

another day in daytona beach! like most of my days lately, i spent today job hunting and doing ministry. i had a hard day yesterday...my two most promising job opportunities didn't work out. twice i was told that places that thought they had a spot for me decided not to take on any new staff. it was so frustrating! last night i was getting kind of discouraged. God, being who He is, reminded me through a friend that He is faithful and has a plan for this summer. i woke up this morning and surrendered my job hunt to Him once again. i found a couple of new job opportunities--an accomplishment in itself--and, with a little luck, am hoping that one of them will work out! i'm really just trying to be patient until He makes His provision known to me...i can't wait to tell you where i end up working!! here's an interesting photo from my job hunt...yes, that is gum. on a tree. at the hilton!

the second half of my day was spent doing active ministry. i met with my discipler shannon to talk about theology and our spiritual walks. we also dedicated half of our meeting time to sharing our faith on the beach. using this really cool image survey called soularium, we got to talk to two girls right in front of our hotel. our survery questions opened up some spiritual conversations and ultimately allowed us to present them with the gospel. we talked with them for probably 40 minutes. it was really interesting...each of them, though being raised in the church, had never heard the full truth of the gospel or had the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as their lord. i couldn't believe it! would you ever guess that a church can exist without the gospel? it was such a reminder to me that, even among church-goers in a "christian nation", there is still confusion about what the Bible actually says and a need for the real truth to be spoken! anyways, i'm really glad we got to share with them. they wanted to receive Christ at the end of our conversation.

and....random...but i wanted to post it! this is a picture of my d-group on our beach!can't wait to share more as it happens! thanks for your support and prayers!
