God is rocking my world
i've been writing a lot about the happenings of summer project. it's cool; i'm glad to share the stories from outings and ministry events and represent the people of this trip to you. i realized today, though, that i haven't been writing much about the amazing ways God has been growing and transforming my heart. really, this trip has been incredible, most especially in the ways it has deepened my relationship with the Lord and challenged me into boldness and leadership. basically, my walk with God has deepened as He has started to redeem me from a lifelong sin stuggle with pride; it's crazy how He has made me so aware of this sin area and then has challenged me to humility in every way--in my job hunt, in forming relationships with people, in failing at things. He has taught me so much about my need for His provision. His grace is more than sufficient--it is the only thing that sufficiently allows me to do or be anything...a realization that was a long time coming. out of this spiritual position, He has been calling me in to different ministries: first, creating a personal ministry among the women on this project. i can tell the Lord will be using my passion for the body of Christ among these girls this summer. it is exciting to form God-glorifying, truth-speaking friendships with them; second; developing my heart for the people of the world. this is really cool. being on a mission trip and learning about the global need for the gospel has been awesome. i am committed to serving the God wherever He calls me and am excited to see how/for what purpose He develops my heart for reaching the world. project is only one month underway and God has already done so many sweet things in my life. i'll look forward to sharing more growth/vision/cool stuff as the trip progresses!
